Training Schedule

New Training classes will be scheduled for September 2013.  Look for specific times and dates to be announced in June.  Contact us to sign up for 1 on 1 training in any of the topics listed below.

Training in TV Production

General

1. Orientation
This introduction to SudburyTV includes a tour of our studio as well as an overview of our equipment, policies, and procedures.  

2. Private Lessons
Whether you are having problems or just want to refresh your memory scheduling a private lesson is a great option for those who prefer to learn in a 1 on 1 environment.
 

Production

1. Field Production
Learn all aspects of a single camera production outside of our L-S studio.  You’ll learn how to set up and use our portable HD cameras, audio and lighting equipment.  You will also learn basic shot compositions and techniques to make your production look it’s best.

2. Advanced Field Production
In this class, you learn everything you need to know about setting up a multi-camera production in the field.  You’ll learn how to use the portable Anycast Switcher to create a studio wherever your production may take you.  The Anycast allows you to take a field production to the next level.  

3. Studio Production
Learn each different crew position we have available in our studio and control room.  You will learn the in’s and out’s of producing a studio based TV show including running a camera, directing, graphics, lighting and sound.  

4. Location Studios
If you’re interested in local government this is the class for you.  In this class you learn how to operate our studios located in Sudbury Town Hall and the Flynn Building.  Our location studios are designed for one person to control the directing, graphics, sound and multiple remote control cameras to provide coverage of local government meetings.  

Post-Production

1. Basic Editing
Here is your chance to learn the basics of the same editing software used by some of the top professionals in television and film, Final Cut Pro.  This class covers all the basics from importing your footage to adding cuts, transitions, graphics and more.  This is the class that lets you take you bring your production ideas to fruition.  

2. Advanced Editing
This class builds off the principles taught in Basic Editing for those who really want to go in depth with Final Cut Pro.  You’ll learn how to add keyframes, effects, filters and more.  You will also be introduced to additional programs DVD Studio Pro and Motion which are bundled with Final Cut Pro.
